Craig Abela is a professional Standards and Technical Pilot qualified on Boeing 757/767/777/787 and Airbus A320 series aircraft. 
 
Serving 15 years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force, mostly flying Boeing 757 aircraft; Craig’s resume includes: military Boeing 757 display pilot, Instructor, Heads of State Pilot and Antarctica project lead pilot (Captaining the first Boeing commercial airliner to conduct Antarctic operations).
 
Craig served 5 years with Air New Zealand as a jet recruiter and Standards pilot (instructor) on Boeing 777s and Airbus aircraft.  He was recruited by Pacific Air Express Australia in 2017 as a Standards and Technical Pilot in order to lead them through the Australian Air Operators Certificate (AOC) process. Craig has set up the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) system for the Boeing 757 fleet, Required Navigation Performance (RNP) approvals and other associated flight technical approvals for global flight operations. The Australian AOC process was accomplished in December 2018.
 
Craig holds a Bachelor of Aviation amongst other military and civilian regulatory qualifications.

Jahan Alamzad is managing principal of CA Advisors.  He has also served as director of strategy and analytics at PricewaterhouseCoopers.  He was director of airline, aerospace, and operations research at Applied Decision Analysis, Inc.  Before than, he was the founding principal and managing director of Management Science Group, a specialized airline and aerospace management consulting firm.  Before his consulting career, he worked at American Airlines and United Airlines.  Jahan holds a masters in management science and engineering from Stanford University.  He has served on the faculty of the School of Business and Management at Notre Dame de Namur University, and also on the faculty of the Department of Aviation at San Jose State University.

After starting his airline industry career in Engineering, Pablo also held multiple managerial positions at major airlines in Line & Heavy Maintenance, Maintenance Planning, and Fleet Management before moving to Technical Operations Projects. It was only natural, due to the nature of the current industry trend, to be given the responsibility over the MRO Systems department as well.

His work focuses on finding efficiencies at all levels of Copa’s Technical Operations, developing portfolios with a process improvement mentality and actively changing the culture thru Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certifications for people throughout the entire division. Hence his projects’ range goes from systems implementations to new shops for the airline or a second hangar for the main base.

In 2015, he was given the task to start planning the digital transformation for Copa´s Technical Operations. Hence in order to comply with the company´s technological vision, a new portfolio was created with 3 core programs: Processes Improvement, Systems Upgrades & Electronic Documentation. Four years later, with the portfolio still going, results have resounded beyond the Copa walls due to its unique approach, efficiencies and aggressive deadlines fulfilment.

Pablo holds a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from McGill University and a Masters in Applied Economics & Business Administration from Texas A&M University. He is also a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and a General Electric/Copa Airlines LSS Green Belt.

Allan is a Vice President at ICF with 32 years of industry experience as an Aviation M&E, MRO and Supply Chain solutions and systems domain expert. He is responsible for ICF’s MRO Operations and IT practice and he manages the Aircraft Commerce Consulting relationship with ICF. He specializes in solution blueprinting for MRO, Supply Chain and ancillary IT systems.

His experience includes managing application design, development, and full cycle implementation – from selection to go-live – for strategic clients in the MRO industry using different commercially available MRO IT products. He has also spearheaded many carriers’ M&E and MRO systems solution design, customizations, integrations and implementations including project governance, data migration and change management.

In his career, Allan has fulfilled the following leadership roles:

 BALACHANDRAN, Hriday

Hriday Balanchandran has served as WestJet’s Manager of IT Airline Ops for the past four years. During that time he has overseen the digitization of flight ops at WestJet, as well as developed the mobile strategy currently under execution.  Hriday also partnered with the Technical Publications department to enable a self-service approach for authors, reliable delivery of digital manuals and documents for EFB end users, and a significant reduction of help desk requests. Before taking on his current role, Hriday managed IT operations for WestJet’s regional carrier Encore. He has nearly two decades of IT experience with nearly half of it in the aviation industry. Hriday holds an MBA with a concentration in Aviation from Daniel Webster College and a Masters of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Southern California. And notably, Hriday is an organizer for SCaLE (Southern California Linux Expo), the largest grassroots Linux conference in North America.

Jean-Marie serves currently as Director of Aircraft Information Systems and leads Esterline’s efforts in business and product development for the company’s secure server, AID and data connectivity solutions for airlines, OEMs, and business aviation. He has also created the EFB business unit in Montreal and managed the satcom antenna product line.   Previously, he worked for SITA as Director of Engineering, involved in the launch and deployment of satcom & VHF aircraft systems as well as ACARS Aircom ground network services.

He has a Master in both Telecommunications Engineering (Telecom Paris) and Aerospace Communication Systems (Sup Aero, Toulouse).

For 2 years he was a core member of the IATA Green Teams, helping to shape that program. He then developed further enhancements to these programs and processes to deliver successful Fuel Efficiency programs at numerous airlines where he was Fuel Efficiency Lead, including LOT Polish Airlines (2011-2013), Etihad Airways (2013-2016), Air Serbia (2016) and Air Seychelles (2016). As a principal in Capgemini’s aviation and aerospace business unit, Michael Wm. Denis leads business strategy, enterprise architecture and technology engagements for A&D clients.

Denis coined the term Service Lifecycle Management (SLM) in 2004 and has dedicated his consulting career to aviation engineering, maintenance, supply chain and aerospace aftermarket services. For the past two decades, Denis has focused on advanced analytical capabilities such as autonomic logistics, predictive maintenance, diagnostics, prognostics, health management, service parts optimization, aircraft financial performance optimization, servitization and anything-as-a-service (XaaS) strategies and business models.

Prior to joining Capgemini, Denis worked for various aviation consultancies, aerospace software companies and aviation business services companies. Denis began his career in the U.S. Navy as a gas turbine engineer and Surface Warfare Officer. He is also a renowned author, speaker and consultant on service lifecycle management capabilities, servitization business models and enabling technologies.

Denis holds a Master of Decision Science from the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is married to Jacqueline Kelly Denis and has three children.

In 2017, Greg transitioned to the Product Marketing organization within Boeing Global Services.  In his current role, Greg is responsible for positioning, promoting and supporting digital products and professional services for commercial airlines, including Boeing AnalytX solutions such as Fuel Dashboard and Optimized Maintenance Program services.  Greg also supports product marketing for Airframe, Performance, & Systems modifications.

Born in Mississippi, Captain Patrick Holyfield moved with his family to Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 13. He attended the University of Louisville and then completed flight training at Flight Safety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida, in 2003. He served as an instructor until 2005 before moving onto commercial aviation.
 
Captain Patrick Holyfield is a 13-year pilot at Republic Airways and serves as the Safety Chairman and Executive Board Vice President for Teamsters Local 357, the representative body of Republic’s pilot workforce. Prior to becoming the Safety Chairman and Vice President, he served as the ASAP ERC Rep and FOQA Gatekeeper for the Q-400 fleet.
 
He is also currently an Instructor/Evaluator for the Embraer fleet. As Safety Chairman, Captain Holyfield works with 28 safety pilots to lead the pilot’s perspective of ASAP, FOQA, Fatigue, LOSA and Accident Investigation. Patrick additionally works as the Deputy Director of Safety for CAPA (Coalition of Airline Pilot Associations) on the national level in Washington D.C. and with other organizational meetings and FAA Working Groups.
 
During his 14-year career in aviation, Captain Holyfield has flown four different aircraft types spanning 8,000 flight hours. He currently resides in Louisville, KY with his three children..

In nearly 40 years, Glen has gained a reputation for integrity, problem-solving, professionalism, depth of knowledge and perseverance. Starting in 1978 as a Royal Navy aircraft engineer, with fixed and rotary wing aircraft, he rose to manage the British Military’s first Aircraft Management System.

Glen joined Computer Science Corporation in 2000, working with GKN Westlands & Lockheed Martin UKIS to deliver MSSAS logistical solution for the Merlin, later working with Lockheed Aeronautics, managing an Asset Management tool supporting C130J assets for global users. He joined XL Airways in 2006 and implemented AMOS for three Group companies before, as a consultant, joining easyJet to assist their AMOS implementation.

Glen’s next project at BMI meant working on both MRO and Flight Operations solutions, and in the sale of the Airline. British Airways Next Generation project for the induction of the B787 and A380’s connected Aircraft followed, before, in 2013, moving to consult with Etihad Airways on their Entry into Service project. Having delivered an MRO Solution for the e-Enabled fleet plus built up and led a Technical Competency Center, Glen left Etihad Airways in 2017 for Europe and clients including Vueling Airways and Flybe.

Glen continues to apply, across a wide spectrum of aviation clients, his deep understanding of aircraft, component maintenance, e- Enablement, IT systems and problem-solving.

Prior to joining Ubisense, Hugh has consistently been working with aerospace companies helping them become more efficient through using their own data more effectively.

He started his career in aviation after graduating with a doctorate in Engineering from Strathclyde University in Glasgow, Scotland. Initially he working for British Aerospace who at the time manufactured small commercial commuter aircraft. During his time with BAE Systems, he moved with his family to Toulouse, France where he was involved in helping create the joint venture with ATR and BAE Systems.

Around 18 years ago, he created his own company, CoreData Limited, which focused on providing airlines, MROs, OEMS and aircraft supply chain companies with solutions that could help them drive value from the large amounts of data they were accumulating. CoreData was a successful venture and he finally sold the company to Rolls Royce. Since then he has been working with customers to improve efficiencies by using their own data and continues to do this with Ubisense.

He progressed from Flight Guidance Engineering on the MD-88 EFIS Program to Liaison Flight Test Engineer assisting airline customers with the delivery of their new MD-80 variant aircraft. In late 1989, he expanded his experience as an Avionics Engineer to include the Boeing and Airbus fleets working for Continental Airlines in Houston, Texas.  In late 1991 an opportunity became available with UPS Airlines (founded in 1987) in Louisville, Kentucky where he started employment as an Avionics Engineer for UPS Airlines. Over the past 28 years at UPS, he has worked in the following capacity: Avionics Engineer, Avionics Engineering Manager, B767/B747 Fleet and Component Reliability Manager, Aircraft Line Maintenance Technical Support Manager and he currently resides as the Aircraft Line Maintenance Technical Support and Data Analytics Team Manager.

Tom holds a Bachelor in Aviation Technology and Master of Business Administration in Aviation from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.  He graduated in 1985. He is married with four children and three grandchildren, and on the weekends, enjoys spending time with his family and working outside in rural Kentucky.
